Another full grid graced the BARC NW Special GT Challenge race with David Ellis in his Aston Martin V8 and Terry Carthy (Elan) sprinting side by side for the first corner. Ellis had the power and eased away lap by lap to notch up another victory. Michael Cousins chased Carthy and Steve Cole popped his TVR into fourth taking the large production class and pulverising his own lap record. Late comer Hamilton who had started from the pits soon got into the swing and got up to fifth by half distance.
